Programs & Services

Aging well, staying connected.

Many programs and activities take place at Orcas Senior Center—including several organized by community partners or government agencies. While we’re proud to host and support these efforts, not all of them are operated or funded by Orcas Senior Center. Below you’ll find both our core offerings and programs happening at the Center. Looking for more? Visit our Resources page for a broader list of services available to Orcas Island seniors.

What We Offer

Meals on Wheels and More logo
Meals & Nutrition
Orcas Senior Center partners with the Whatcom Council in Aging and San Juan County Services. to provide two essential meal programs: Meals on Wheels and Senior Lunch.

Senior Lunch is served at Orcas Senior Center on the Mondays and Wednesdays, offering a meal and community connection.

Both programs are open to eligible adults aged 60+ by donation.

Companionship heart

Companion Services
Orcas Senior Center’s Companion Services help reduce isolation and foster connection for older adults and adults with disabilities through two programs: Buddy Check-In and Hearts and Hands.

Buddy Check‑In offers regular phone check‑ins during which trained volunteers call seniors and adults with disabilities to offer social contact, emotional support, and referrals when needed.

Hearts & Hands provides in‑person visits—offering social companionship, help with light errands or activities like reading, puzzles, or game play, in order to support both emotional and physical well‑being.

These free, programs are designed to brighten days and build lasting connections. If you’re interested in volunteering or companionship, contact Edy Hansen at edy@orcasseniors.org or (360) 919-9318.
