Renovating Orcas Senior Center for the Future

The Orcas Senior Center buildign was constructed nearly 25 years ago—when Orcas Island had fewer residents and a smaller demand for services. Today, we’ve outgrown that original vision. Membership and participation has grown, and the need for more space, accessibility, and energy efficiency is greater than ever.

Thanks to your generous support, we now own 100% of the Orcas Senior Center building—and we’re putting your donations to work. We’re launching a renovation project to ensure the building meets the evolving needs of our community.

Here are some of the improvements we’re exploring:

  • Additional ADA-compliant restrooms
  • Increasing flexible meeting and activity spaces
  • Expanded Grannie’s Corner
  • A welcoming “living room” area for social connection
  • Energy efficiency upgrades
  • Improved reception area and staff workplaces
  • More parking spaces

To continue supporting these efforts, please consider contributing to our renovation fund
