Born and raised in Eastern Washington, Lena brings over 12 years of nonprofit experience and moved to Orcas Island in 2016 with her husband and their cat. She’s passionate about supporting community through her work at Orcas Senior Center, helping ensure that seniors and adults with disabilities can age well and stay connected.

Originally from Hawaii, Edy has called Orcas Island home for over 20 years. She raised three daughters here—each a graduate from Orcas Island High School and Western Washington University. Edy is passionate about creating engaging and meaningful programs for the Orcas Senior Center, bringing fun, connection, and engagement to the community.

Travis, a stage actor with a degree in theatre, moved from Spokane to Orcas Island in 2016 and has been active in the local theatre scene ever since. Also a visual artist and experienced in professional maintenance, he enjoys sailing his boat “King’s Ransom” and brings a hands-on approach to island living.

Suzette moved to Eastsound with her husband in 2020 and brings a background in nonprofit work as a licensed psychotherapist specializing in attachment, trauma recovery, and parenting. Originally from Texas and raised in an Air Force family, she’s excited to help strengthen services for all islanders while enjoying life on Orcas—especially cooking, gardening, and fishing for kokanee. Allan has led a rich and varied life, from seed banks and property management to sailing across the Pacific, participating in the first Race to Alaska, and collecting stories from travels around the world. A longtime Orcas resident, Allan the Orcas Senior Center Board to give back to the community, serving alongside his wife, Darcey Miller, and sharing his love of service and storytelling.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Darcey Miller moved to West Seattle in 1999 and has been involved with the Orcas Island community since 2017. A longtime volunteer with Orcas Senior Center, she now serves as board secretary and is especially passionate about event planning, fundraising, and community connection.

Lynnette grew up in California and pursued a global career in applied mathematics, spanning satellite imaging, foreign aid, and climate change adaptation, with work in 67 countries. A full-time Orcas resident since 2010, she has served on numerous local boards and committes and remains an active volunteer with Orcas Senior Center, where she envisions a vibrant hub for the entire community.

A San Francisco Bay Area native and Stanford graduate with a BA in Economics, Greg is pleased to be part of the unique community on Orcas Island. Inspired by his experience supporting his aging parents, he hopes to contribute to the work of Orcas Senior Center and help fellow seniors lead self-sufficient lives with dignity and grace.

After retiring from a 30-year career as a first responder with the Daly City Fire Department, George and his wife, Karen, made Orcas Island their home in 2000, drawn by its quiet beauty and relaxed pace of life. An active volunteer ever since, George is passionate about ensuring Orcas Senior Center remains a safe, welcoming space filled with preparedness, connection, and fun.

Ramona Curtis, a former teacher and principal with Seattle Public Schools, has a lifelong love for people—especially seniors—and delights in gardening, quilting, cooking, storytelling, and spending time with family. She treasures her antique beach house, the Hiatt House in Olga, and all the beauty and charm of Orcas Island.
