Orcas Senior Center engages the community to provide services, advocacy, and support so that people can live and age well on Orcas Island.


Who We Are

Orcas Senior Center is a community-led nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults and those who care for them. We offer programs that support aging in place, encourage healthy living, and build meaningful community connections.


Our History

Serving Orcas Island since 1976

  • 1976 — Orcas Senior Center’s parent nonprofit, Senior Services of San Juan County, was founded to help island seniors access care without leaving their communities
  • 2002 — Orcas Senior Center opened its new building, owning 51% and sharing the remaining 49% with San Juan County.
  • 2023 — Orcas Senior Center separates from Senior Services Council of San Juan County to becaome as a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • 2024 — Orcas Senior Center completes purchase of the remaining 49% of its building from San Juan County, achieving full ownership
