Welcome to the Orcas Senior Center!
We are not just “Seniors”, just adults who happen to be over 60… We are artists, teachers, therapists, engineers, farmers… We are business owners, philanthropists, contractors, politicians, ship builders, and so much more. We are the wise ones, the ancients, the elders, holding wisdom that can only be achieved with age. We are the ones that made it through. Many of us are the baby boomers, we have all lived through war and seen the technology age evolve. We have fought for equality and environmental change. We have seen parts of our world grow while others crumble.
Help us build an intergenerational, sustainable community for lifetimes of decades. Help us thrive, not just survive. As one day, part of this “WE” will be YOU.

Aging on Orcas - Focus Group Participation. The Orcas Senior Center is recruiting participants for our upcoming Focus Groups to further explore the results of the "How to we build a vital Future" Orcas Island survey conducted in the Fall/Winter of 2017. In June 2018, we will be holding three focus groups (10-12 people per group) to discuss services, needs, and solutions related to the following topics; (1) Coordinator to help Navigate and facilitate access to services, (2) Home Safety (including possible handyman services, home assessments and other services), and (3) Emergency Preparedness (including senior emergency kits and information about services such as Life Alert). Interested in participating? Contact Sara Boyle via email email@example.com or phone (360-376-723).
Come exercise with us! Take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Senior Center has an amazing team of local and experienced instructors who have created classes tailored to a variety of physical abilities.

May is Older Americans Month! Every May, the Administration on Aging, part of the Administration for Community Living, leads our nation's observance of Older American's Month. Older American Month is a great time to show the world you are never too old (or too young) to enrich your life and your community. It also celebrates the many ways in which older adults make a difference in our communities. No matter where you are in your life, there is no better time than now to start. We hope you will join in and Engage at Every Age!
Join the Orcas Senior Center for a “Selfie Challenge” after lunch on Wednesday, May 23rd in which we will help you take/share photos on social and words of wisdom to participate in this year’s Engage at Every Age initiative. Engage further in our wellness offerings and recreational activities as we begin the fun summer season – see our calendar for details!

2017 Challenge Grant SUCCESS!
Thank you to the 220+ donors for your generous support that helped us reach our 2017 Challenge Grant Goal to implement new initiative in 2018. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!! The Senior Center looks forward to implementing new initiatives with this funding, from new Hearts and Hands programming to turning our lobby into a weekly Coffee Club. Keep a watch out for invites to a donor thank you event at the beginning of 2018. Many thanks to all those that have contributed to the wish list of possibilities; we look forward to turning these into reality!
Your help expands and revives the much-loved Hearts and Hands program and help the Senior Center become a one stop Orcas information resource, take a larger role in the community, team up with other organizations (like our summertime trips to Orcasong Farm!) and support multi-generational collaborations (such as monthly visits from neighboring schools). Some of you will recognize services as the “village concept.” Yes, we are gathering the building blocks of a village! We could build our own village on our own island for all. Together, we will make the Senior Center the vibrant place it was always meant to be.
Its not too late to make a donation! Every dollar adds value to our efforts, programs, services and offers a helping hand. Donations can be made via the below link. Checks can be made payable to Orcas Senior Center and dropped off at the OSC (62 Henry Rd, Eastsound) or mailed to:

We are immensely grateful for your support. It matters for Orcas.
