Stewart Island Adventure Tuesday, September 12th at 9am

We will meet and leave from the dock beside the Orcas Ferry Landing at 9am on Tuesday, September 12th. The boat is named “Evergreen” and is a 1986 Pilgrim 40 cruising boat Captained by Steve Schaefer. We will spend about 2.5 hours getting to Stewart Island and then travel to the lighthouse on the western tip of the island. Transportation will be provided by local members of the Turn Point Lighthouse Preservation Society. We’ll tour the lighthouse and have lunch there (please bring your own lunch).We will arrive back at Orcas around 4:30. There is comfortable space for the crew plus 8 passengers. Boarding the boat is easy, however, the dock ramps will be a bit steep due to low tides. Life jackets will be available. There is a toilet and refrigerator on board. Dress in layers as it can be chilly on the water and wear comfortable walking shoes. No fee but a donation for fuel greatly appreciated.
